Report: Tottenham Hotspur receive boost in pursuit of Premier League striker

Tottenham Hotspur have received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi, as Paris Saint-Germain shift their attention to Ferran Torres after seemingly losing momentum in their chase of the Bournemouth forward. According to TeamTalk, PSG’s redirected focus has opened a serious window for Spurs to advance with one of their top attacking targets. PSG had previously identified Kroupi as their standout option to replace Goncalo Ramos, who appears to be edging toward a move to AC Milan. However, PSG have now been informed that the young attacker would refuse to join if it meant he would play a secondary role behind the likes of Ousmane Dembele and the club’s established attacking stars. That detail is crucial because it directly touches on the core issue driving this situation from the outset: the need for regular football and a clear pathway to the first team.
With that in mind, PSG have moved swiftly. TeamTalk reports that Ferran Torres has emerged as PSG’s preferred alternative, with the Spain international making substantial progress toward a switch from Barcelona. The report adds that Torres has now agreed personal terms with PSG and that negotiations between the clubs are advancing. For Tottenham, that development could prove decisive.
There has already been a strong signal that Tottenham’s interest in Kroupi runs deeper than mere exploration. The 20-year-old has been identified as one of the club’s leading attacking targets as the current regime continues a major squad-building project. What stands out in this latest update is the suggestion that Kroupi finds the prospect of joining Tottenham “hugely appealing.” In a market where elite young forwards can linger for bigger-name signings, that phrasing feels significant.
The attraction for Spurs is understandable. They believe they can offer a more immediate role, and that appears to be central to the player’s thinking. While PSG’s status as European champions naturally carries appeal, the report notes that Kroupi’s “primary concern has always been his pathway to regular first-team football.” For Spurs, that is the strongest argument in their favor.
There is also the broader project to consider. Tottenham are presenting themselves as one of Europe’s most ambitious clubs in this window, having already added Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to the squad. Kroupi’s profile—a young, adaptable forward with a high ceiling—fits neatly into that strategy. He is viewed as someone who could lead the line in time, while also offering the versatility to play across the front three.
Bournemouth, for their part, have been unwavering in their stance. Their message has been consistent: Kropui is not for sale. That stance has not stopped Tottenham from lining up their next move. TeamTalk reports that Spurs are prepared to submit an official bid in the coming weeks, buoyed by the belief that both the player and his representatives will see a move to north London as a favorable step forward in his development and career trajectory.
