Florida State put in an offer to 2028 four-star tight end Asa Wall last September. A month after that initial contact, the Seminoles hosted the 6-foot-3, 239-pound prospect for an unofficial visit when they faced the Pittsburgh Panthers. Following that trip, Wall committed to the Georgia Bulldogs about a week later. Wall remains solid in his pledge to Georgia, a decision that is helped by family ties to the program and the fact that his father, J.T. Wall, is a former Bulldog. Still, nothing is official until he signs, and FSU continues to press hard, along with several other SEC programs, according to Tom Loy of 247Sports.
“I would definitely say Florida State. They send a lot of stuff. Alabama, for sure. Auburn’s been contacting me a lot recently,” Wall said, highlighting the degree of national attention he’s drawn from major programs.
Wall enjoyed an outstanding sophomore season at John Milledge Academy in Milledgeville, Georgia. He totaled 944 receiving yards on 47 catches, averaging 20.1 yards per grab, and found the end zone 10 times. Those numbers help explain why the Seminoles have kept him at the top of their recruiting board and why he remains a high-priority target in the 2028 class.
Florida State will have to work to get Wall to campus again, ideally for another game visit during the season, and perhaps multiple visits given his proximity to Georgia. In the 247Sports composite rankings, Wall sits as the nation’s No. 135 overall prospect and No. 6 at the tight end position. Within Georgia, he’s ranked as the No. 17 recruit in the state, underscoring the level of talent and attention he’s drawing from programs across the Southeast.
As the recruiting cycle advances, FSU will be looking to capitalize on any momentum with Wall, aiming to position themselves as a serious alternative to Georgia even as the commitment remains with the Bulldogs for now. The Seminoles’ ongoing pursuit signals their confidence in their ability to sway Wall if opportunities arise, particularly with another visit or two on the horizon.
