What Florida baseball’s Kyle Jones brings to Milwaukee Brewers

By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

Florida baseball outfielder Kyle Jones was selected in the third round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. The Gators’ center fielder and leadoff hitter was chosen as the 102nd overall pick, carrying a slot value of $770,600. After missing the majority of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury, the redshirt sophomore rebounded with a productive 2026 campaign. Offensively, Jones posted a .317 batting average, logged 16 doubles, hit six home runs, drove in 48 runs, and swiped 17 stolen bases. He also reached base in 42 of his 111 appearances for a team-leading .382 on-base percentage. Jones’ blend of bat-to-ball skills and speed has drawn significant attention from MLB scouts.
The Athens, Georgia native transferred to the University of Florida from Stetson and did not commit an error in 113 defensive chances this season. One of the standout moments of his year came in a career-high five-hit game against Georgia, where he reached base in all six of his plate appearances, belting one home run, scoring three times, driving in two runs, and being hit by a pitch in addition to his five hits.
Before arriving at Florida, Jones started 62 games for Stetson and earned a spot on the Second Team Freshman All-American list in his early collegiate years. His track record of solid defense and versatile impact at the plate helped elevate his profile among professional scouts ahead of the Brewers’ selection.
