​The Arizona Cardinals will report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, including finalizing the roster and sorting out starting jobs and roles across the team. Here is a closer look at tight end Kenny Yeboah. Yeboah is entering his first season with the Cardinals and his sixth season in the league. He arrived in the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2021 with the New York Jets. Over four seasons with the Jets, he worked with Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur and special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial, appearing in 33 total games. He logged 309 offensive snaps and 610 on special teams, recording nine career receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. Last season, Yeboah joined the Detroit Lions but suffered a knee injury before the season opener, landing on injured reserve. He was waived with an injury settlement in November and later signed with the Cardinals in June.
Yeboah signed a one-year deal at the league minimum, worth just over $1.2 million. He received no signing bonus and has no guarantees beyond that amount. Because of his veteran qualifying contract, his cap hit will be less than $1.1 million. He represents an intriguing option for the Cardinals’ fourth tight end spot. The depth chart at the position appears to be led by Trey McBride, Tip Reiman, and Elijah Higgins, leaving the final roster spot to be contested among several contenders.
Is he fully healthy? He enters training camp as a bubble player, but his experience on special teams and his prior familiarity with LaFleur and Ghobrial from the Jets could give him a slight advantage over other challengers.
