Michigan football lands four-star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo

Michigan focused most of its 2027 recruiting effort in May and June, but the Wolverines are still adding to the class as they finalize commitments, including another addition along the offensive line. The program secured a pledge from four-star interior lineman Lincoln Mageo from Oceanside High School in Oceanside, California. Mageo chose Michigan over Utah and Washington on Saturday, July 11. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 280 pounds, Mageo arrives with more than 20 Division I offers, with notable options including Ohio State, Texas, and USC.
Mageo visited Ann Arbor in early June and was selected as a Polynesian Bowl All-Star, showcasing his rising profile as a blocker with versatility along the line. Michigan fans were treated to a pregame display as the school’s marching band performed at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor ahead of the game against Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. In evaluating Mageo, 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks highlighted his strengths as a drive blocker in the run game, noting his “strong, heavy-handed pop,” particularly when moving and assisting in pass protection. Brookssaid that improving fluidity through his lower half would elevate his pass-blocking ceiling, and he projected Mageo as a potential run-game enforcer with the athletic development to reach the P4 level.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Mageo is rated as the No. 19 interior lineman in the nation, the No. 31 player in California, and the No. 369 prospect in the 2027 class. He becomes the fourth offensive lineman to pledge to Michigan under position coach Jim Harding, joining four-star Jakari Lipsey, three-star Sidney Rouleau, and three-star Louis Esposito, who is the son of former Michigan defensive-line coach Lou Esposito, who departed for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. Mageo’s commitment brings Michigan to 21 commits in the class, which was ranked No. 19 in the nation by 247Sports prior to Mageo’s decision.
