What are expectations for Odell Beckham Jr. with NY Giants in 2026?

This is Part 10 of 26 in Art Stapleton’s New York Giants summer series Q&A. The Giants currently have a Super Bowl-winning, and potentially Hall of Fame-bound, head coach in John Harbaugh, who can raise the whole organization toward a championship standard the franchise has struggled to meet for far too long. The standing ovation Harbaugh received from Giants fans at Beacon Theatre during the team’s Town Hall event in May was just the start. Harbaugh, preparing to usher in another new era in the franchise’s 102nd year, clearly knew how to work the room as the moment stretched on.
With 193 career victories to his name, Harbaugh faced a fan’s question about whether the Giants were finally done being bullied by their NFC rivals—the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Commanders. He answered with a rallying pledge that felt like a battle cry he will continue to deliver from now until the season begins. “I could not care less about what happened last year, or the year before that, or ten years before that,” Harbaugh said. “All I care about is tomorrow’s practice, because if tomorrow’s practice is the way it’s supposed to be, that will be one more step in the direction of being a good enough football team to kick the Cowboys’ ass.”
The questions facing the Giants for now outweigh the answers, but this summer and the weeks beyond will begin to lay out a framework with 26 questions that could define the 2026 season. The drama that once animated a generation of Giants fans might still pulse within Odell Beckham Jr., who remains one of the most popular, yet polarizing, figures in the franchise’s 102-year history. Beckham’s trademark tousled blonde hair — once a universal barber-shop staple — is gone, and he’s a father now, insisting that his return to a team that traded him away could be an opportunity to show his 4-year-old son Zydn, born just days after Beckham’s Super Bowl victory with the Rams in 2022, the value of perseverance and not quitting.
Beckham’s reunion narrative with the Giants is nothing short of a compelling story. Beyond the spectacle of spectacular one-handed catches and game-changing routes, this homecoming comes tethered to expectation and doubt in equal measure. And while the idea of Beckham’s second marriage to the Giants has sparked plenty of talk for months, there’s more to it than nostalgia: the 33-year-old wide receiver appears intent on shaping the arc of his NFL career, with the prospect of catching passes from Jaxson Dart and potentially leaving a lasting mark on a team seeking renewed pageantry and success.
