Wisconsin volleyball match moves locations due to high ticket demand

The Wisconsin Badgers have announced a significant update to their 2026 volleyball schedule, revealing that a highly anticipated conference matchup will be relocated from the team’s traditional home court to a larger venue. Instead of playing Purdue at Holloway Gymnasium, the 2,288-seat facility on Wisconsin’s campus, the game will be moved to Mackey Arena. This change comes as Purdue’s home arena for many events, including a considerable portion of their men’s basketball schedule, routinely hosts a number of volleyball matches when demand warrants it, making the shift a straightforward decision given the anticipated attendance.
Mackey Arena offers a much larger capacity, with seating for nearly 15,000 fans (14,876, to be precise). The decision to relocate the match underscores Wisconsin’s continued appeal at the gate; the Badgers have consistently been among the leaders in the Big Ten not only in terms of win-loss records but also in securing enthusiastic, large, and vocal crowds. West Lafayette, Indiana, is roughly a four-hour drive from Wisconsin’s campus, a straightforward trip many Badgers supporters are expected to make on September 27 for this conference showdown.
