Berry has been with the Seahawks since the Mike Holmgren years and is approaching two decades with the organization. After serving as director of college scouting for eight years through 2022, Berry’s role changed to senior director of player personnel for 2023 and was most recently the vice president of player acquisition. As noted by Pelissero, Berry was a candidate for the Tennessee Titans GM job last season. He has been a key part of Seattle’s front office for some time, particularly alongside Schneider.

Meanwhile, Willie Schneider is John’s cousin, but he’s more than that. Schneider has been with the Seahawks for 13 seasons in several roles, including Director of Pro Personnel. He has vast experience in the scouting department and is one of many with input in Seattle’s draft day decisions. It’s notable that Schneider is a Minnesota native, just like Trent Kirchner, but he’s staying in Seattle for the foreseeable future in an enhanced role.

The team also announced four other promotions, which include the following:

• Aaron Hineline – Director of Player Personnel (previous title: Director of college scouting)

• Armani Perez – Director of Pro Personnel (previous title: Assistant director of pro personne)

• Jason Barnes – Director of College Scouting (previous title: Assistant director of college scouting)

• Patrick Ward – Vice President/Research & Analytics (previous title: Director of research & analytics)

This is a nice reminder that, much like Seattle’s player roster, the front office also boasts great depth in terms of figures who have built several successful Seahawks seasons and multiple Super Bowls along the way. And, of course, John Schneider is still here.
