If the Chicago Bears return to form, they’re likely to collect individual honors, and nearly half of Windy City Gridiron’s voters—about 49%—believe the team will feature three or four Pro Bowlers this season. Earlier this week, we asked the question, and WCG member Turkeyfoot predicted as many as six. In his projection, guard Joe Thuney, right tackle Darnell Wright, quarterback Caleb Williams, tight end Colston Loveland, and several new defensive contributors—linebacker Devin Bush and safety Coby Bryant—could be among the Bears’ Pro Bowl selections. Last season, Chicago had four such players, though three of them are no longer with the team.
I had projected five Pro Bowlers for 2026: Thuney, Wright, Caleb Williams, Loveland, and cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Here’s a bit more context on those picks. If he stays healthy, Thuney feels like a lock. He’s an outstanding football player with no apparent weaknesses in his game. He’ll turn 34 in November, but interior linemen often maintain prime play into their mid-30s. His contract runs through 2027, and I hope he can keep playing a while longer because, aside from his on-field excellence, he’s an extraordinary teammate and locker-room leader.
Wright, who will turn 25 next month, is due for a well-deserved contract extension. He’s earned Second-Team All-Pro honors, but I believe his best football is still ahead of him. Loveland appears to be nearing elite status at tight end. He performed well as a 21-year-old rookie last season, and we could be witnessing the rise of a potential all-time great at the position.
Johnson has enjoyed a strong offseason and looks poised to reclaim his two-time Pro Bowl form. Having just turned 27 in April, he seems a reasonable bet for a bounce-back season. That brings us to Caleb. While I’m predicting his first Pro Bowl, his path might not be straightforward. The NFC features several quality quarterbacks, and although Caleb’s overall numbers should improve, he may not be called upon to deliver as many late-game heroics—those dramatic moments that tend to catch the eyes of voters, including fans, players, and coaches.
Our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook currently rate Caleb Williams with the ninth-best odds to win league MVP at +1500, with only two other NFC quarterbacks ranked ahead of him. If that projection holds, Caleb could be in the running for the award. On the other hand, he might be occupied during Pro Bowl Week, meaning he could miss the event and still collect the acclaim without the in-person experience.
