As the MLB Draft moves into its second day, Sunday also marks the opening on-field festivities for Philadelphia’s All-Star celebration: the All-Star Futures Game. This annual showcase highlights the top prospects in the game and is set to begin today at 10 a.m. MDT at Citizens Bank Park.
For the second straight year, Rockies potential star Charlie Condon, the No. 1 PuRP, will represent Colorado in the contest. Roldy Brito, who sits at No. 11 PuRP, will be making his first appearance in the Futures Game. Condon, a 23-year-old who plays first base and outfield, is having an outstanding season with Triple-A Albuquerque. The Rockies’ 2024 first-round pick (No. 3 overall) is batting .289/.414/.584 with 20 home runs, 16 doubles, and 60 RBIs across 79 games. He previously hit cleanup in the 2025 Futures Game but went 0-for-3 with two groundouts and a strikeout. He will again start at cleanup in today’s game.
Rookie Brito, a second baseman and center fielder who is just 19, is continuing his development in Low-A Fresno. Signed in 2024 out of the Dominican Republic, Brito is slashing .327/.390/.506 with eight homers, 20 doubles, 66 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases over 79 games for the Single-A Fresno Grizzlies.
Sunday’s matchup will feature the National League against the American League and will showcase the top prospects from 19 MLB teams, according to MLB Pipeline. The game spans seven innings.
Two Phillies legends will guide the action as managers in a weekend honoring the host city: Shane Victorino for the National League and Larry Bowa for the American League. The National League will be aiming for its fourth consecutive victory in this event.
First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. MDT. Television coverage will be on NBC. The Futures Game remains a key part of All-Star Weekend, offering fans a glimpse at the next wave of MLB talent while honoring the city hosting the festivities.
As a reminder, the All-Star weekend in Philadelphia continues with events and celebrations throughout the day, including appearances by former Phillies icons and other festivities designed to celebrate both the city and the sport. The Futures Game, a seven-inning affair, serves as a fitting kickoff to the All-Star Sunday, showcasing the brightest prospects and offering a sneak peek at future MLB stars in action.
