Venezia is on the brink of sealing a deal for Sevilla forward Akor Adams, with negotiations advancing rapidly toward completion. Director of Sport Filippo Antonelli has confirmed that talks are at a very advanced stage, suggesting that a formal agreement could be reached soon. The deal is reported to be worth around €16 million upfront, supplemented by add-ons tied to both Adams’s personal milestones and the team’s collective performance.
Adams, a 26-year-old Nigerian international, joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 for €5.5 million. In the previous season with Sevilla, he delivered 10 goals and three assists across 32 La Liga appearances, highlighting his effectiveness in the competition and attracting interest from Venezia as they look to bolster their attacking options in Serie A.
Various outlets, including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, and Tuttomercatoweb, indicate that the agreement is near completion. The reported structure features a fixed transfer fee of approximately €16 million, with add-ons that would be activated based on Adams’s achievements personally and on the team’s results. Antonelli, speaking at a press conference, reassured reporters that he would disclose every detail once everything is finalized, underscoring the seriousness and momentum of the talks. “The talks are at a very advanced stage, but there are still some final details to work out,” he stated, signaling that a resolution is imminent.
Venezia’s promotion narrative remains strong after they clinched the Serie B title last season, earning automatic promotion to the top tier. The club has already reinforced its squad in preparation for the new campaign, adding several notable players. Albion Rrahmani has joined from Sparta Prague, Armel Bella-Kotchap arrived from Verona, and Ale Gomes signed from Real Zaragoza. In addition, Venezia secured the services of free agents Toma Basic and Thierry Correia, further strengthening their midfield and defensive options as they transition to life in Serie A.
Adams’s potential move to Venezia would be a significant step in the club’s strategy to compete at the highest level in Italian football. If the deal is completed, it would not only provide Venezia with an attacking threat capable of delivering goals and assists but also add depth to their forward line, enabling more rotational flexibility across the season. Fans and analysts will be watching closely as final negotiation points are resolved, with a decision expected to come soon given the broader context of Venezia’s aggressive transfer activity and the clear intent to consolidate their post-promotion momentum.
