Florida football will begin fall training camp in the first week of August, with the Gainesville Sun confirming that the Gators’ first team practice is scheduled for August 5. The head coach, Jon Sumrall, along with players and a few selected assistant coaches, are slated to meet with the media the day prior to the start of practice.
In addition to practice, Florida will stage two scrimmages on August 15 and August 22. The camp will then conclude in the following week, bringing the overall training period to a close. Sumrall and two players are also slated to participate in SEC Media Day, a four-day event that will take place in Tampa from July 20 through July 23. The Gators will address the media on July 22, joining Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M in the day’s press schedule. A comprehensive television schedule is still to be released.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Florida is slated to open against Florida Atlantic on September 5 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:45 p.m. local time.
