Tennessee baseball signee Shawn Sullivan has decided to join the Vols for the upcoming season and will decline entering the 2026 MLB Draft after going unselected in the first nine rounds, according to several reports on July 12. Sullivan entered the draft as MLB Pipeline’s No. 132 prospect and is ranked as the No. 78 overall player in the class of 2026 by Perfect Game. A right-handed pitcher from Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he committed to Tennessee in November 2025, choosing the Volunteers over Arkansas after previously being committed to Alabama.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 188 pounds, Sullivan features a fastball that sits in the mid-90s and has touched 97 mph. During his senior season at Walsh Jesuit, he posted a 3-1 record with a 0.90 ERA and 89 strikeouts across 46.2 innings. Over his high school career, he logged a 1.30 ERA in 145 innings and fanned 256 hitters. Sullivan’s college eligibility will keep him on track for the 2028 MLB Draft.
With his commitment solidified to Tennessee, he will contribute to the Vols’ pitching staff in the coming season while skipping professional selection in 2026.
