Jürgen Klopp won’t stay with Red Bull in any capacity

By admin — In News — July 13, 2026

Contrary to some earlier reports, if Jürgen Klopp accepts the position as head coach of the German national team, he would not maintain a part-time role with Red Bull. If anything, Red Bull would simply like to be able to consult Klopp from time to time. Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg shared the news: it was NEVER planned for Jürgen Klopp to remain a Red Bull ambassador while serving as the new Bundestrainer. Reports to the contrary were inaccurate. The matter never entered into the phone discussions and was not part of Red Bull’s thinking, nor was it discussed by Oliver Mintzlaff. Red Bull’s sole wish is for Klopp to remain accessible occasionally to share his expertise while he serves as Bundestrainer. All remaining Red Bull-related details are expected to be discussed and finalised in New York by early next week.
From Sky Sport Germany’s perspective, as unusual as it may sound, the DFB job will likely demand most of Klopp’s time. In addition to scouting and monitoring talent, selecting squads, implementing a playing style, and building a new mentality, Klopp will probably take a hands-on role in areas such as talent development and coaching development, while also contributing input on capital planning initiatives, including facilities and infrastructure improvements. It’s clear that Klopp will be a busy, central figure.
