Man City to host shop window game with 25 players available for loan or permanent moves

Manchester City are set to host a distinctive “shop window” match on Tuesday, inviting several clubs to attend a unique showcase that could reveal up to 25 players from the club’s loan and selling lists for this summer. The fixture, described by insiders as a rare opportunity, will give EFL Championship sides and European teams the chance to negotiate potential deals for players who may be headed out of the Etihad this season. The event comes at a pivotal moment for City as they navigate a period of transition following Pep Guardiola’s departure after a decade in charge. Enzo Maresca is preparing for his first full season at the helm, bringing a fresh approach while aligning with the club’s established footballing philosophy.
City have already signaled their ambitions with big-money moves, including the record-breaking fee for Elliot Anderson, who arrived from Nottingham Forest for £116 million. Jeremy Monga joined from Leicester City for an initial £10 million plus add-ons, underscoring City’s willingness to recruit high-potential talent. The club’s transfer activity comes amid a broader reshaping of the squad, with notable exits over the summer shaping the balance of their resources and options for the coming campaign.
Among the departures, established figures from City’s senior ranks have moved on. John Stones and Bernardo Silva both left as their contracts expired, while Nathan Ake swapped England for Turkey to join Fenerbahce. The club is expected to continue refining the squad in the current window, with more departures anticipated as Maresca works to strengthen the roster in line with his strategic outlook.
The Tuesday shop window event has drawn particular interest after journalist Alan Nixon reported that City invited multiple clubs to attend, with up to 25 players slated to feature. The list includes a blend of loan players, youngsters from the academy, and other talents who could attract attention from clubs in both the EFL Championship and Europe. This gathering will serve as a live platform for prospective negotiations, allowing interested teams to assess City’s assets who are available for loan moves or permanent transfers.
Among those anticipated to appear is Divine Mukasa, who featured six times for City before spending the latter half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Leicester, Maresca’s former club. Jaden and Reigan Heskey, the sons of former England striker Emile Heskey, are also set to take part, alongside Max Alleyne, who was recalled from a loan spell at Watford during a defensive crisis. In addition, Spike Brits, Charlie Gray, and Issa Kabore are expected to be involved in the session. It remains unclear whether senior figures such as Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips will participate, despite social media posts showing the pair in training together.
Grealish and Phillips, who have accrued a combined 70 England caps between them from previous loan spells at Everton and Sheffield United, could remain with City beyond this summer as Maresca contemplates adding depth to the squad. Guardiola’s era favored a leaner setup, but Maresca’s approach, while rooted in the same tactical principles, appears to be more expansive in terms of squad size and options.
City’s pre-season itinerary will also see them travel to Asia for fixtures that will accompany their preparations for the new campaign. The tour will begin with a clash against Inter Milan in Hong Kong, a marquee rematch of last season’s UEFA Champions League final, before they head to Seoul to face the K-League All-Stars. The trip will mirror a recent pattern in City’s preseason tours and will help Maresca assess his squad, integrate new signings like Anderson and Monga, and determine which players are best suited for loan arrangements or permanent moves ahead of the new season.
