Michigan football had a strong sense in early June that it could add to the class, even as it contended with several West Coast programs, including Kyle Whittingham’s former Utah. After Lincoln Mageo visited Ann Arbor on June 5, all signs pointed toward him eventually becoming a Wolverine. Yet his decision was not coming until July 11, so the maize and blue still faced a short wait. That wait proved fruitful, as it turns out.
Mageo, the Oceanside, California, four-star interior offensive lineman, chose Michigan on Saturday, choosing the Wolverines over Utah, Arizona, and UCLA. His commitment marks the fourth offensive lineman to join Michigan’s class.
Here are Michigan’s current commits with Mageo now in the fold:
– Quentin Burrell, four-star wide receiver from Chicago Mount Carmel (No. 88 overall)
– Monsanna Torbert, four-star cornerback from Cincinnati Princeton (No. 97 overall)

247Sports’ Gabe Brooks’ scouting outlook on Mageo describes him as a densely built high school tackle who projects as a P4-caliber interior offensive lineman. He is viewed as a dependable drive blocker in the run game, delivering heavy-handed pop, especially when moving and aiding in pass protection. He brings valuable multi-sport experience, including respectable shot-put results, and his demeanor on the field matches a physical, aggressive playing style. While he still works on achieving more consistent bend and body control, improving fluidity in the lower half will elevate his pass-protection ceiling. Overall, he is seen as a player who could develop into a run-game enforcer, with a projection toward P4 status.
Rivals currently ranks Michigan’s class as 10th nationally with Mageo in the fold, and third in the Big Ten.
