Florida State is setting the pace for blue-chip 2028 QB

By admin — In News — July 13, 2026

Florida State University is clearly aiming to get a head start on the 2028 recruiting cycle, with quarterback emerging as one of the top targets on their board. Four-star Chandler Dyson has become the focal point at the position, and in a short span, FSU has already established a strong early lead in Dyson’s recruitment. Dyson himself indicated that among all the programs he has visited in recent months, Florida State has left the biggest impression, suggesting the Seminoles are currently in a favorable position.
Dyson recently participated in the Under Armour Next 7-on-7 Camp in Florida, an event that drew many of the nation’s top prospects. When reflecting on his recruitment, Dyson told 247Sports that Florida State is the program leading the chase at the moment. His offer sheet has expanded rapidly through the spring, with Florida State beginning contact immediately on June 15, and the Seminoles appear to be setting the pace early in this process. Louisville, Oklahoma, and North Carolina have also remained active in his recruitment, but FSU has been the most proactive from the outset.
The momentum cannot be allowed to fade for the Seminoles. They should maximize Dyson’s on-campus opportunities during the upcoming season and maintain a strong, proactive approach to his recruitment. Other programs such as Ole Miss, LSU, South Carolina, and Nebraska have also extended offers during the spring and summer, underscoring the nationwide attention Dyson is receiving.
Dyson is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 181 prospect and the No. 12 quarterback in the 247Sports composite, with a Georgia regional ranking of No. 24. As Florida State looks to capitalize on this early momentum, the race for Dyson’s commitment could shape the quarterback landscape for the 2028 cycle.
