Columbia’s Ross Steelman wins KFT tournament, bolstering PGA Tour bid

   ​Ross Steelman is now a winner at the professional level.The former Missouri men’s golf and Rock Bridge high standout claimed his first title since turning pro in 2023 this past weekend, securing a one-shot win in The Blue Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour on Sunday in Berthoud, Colorado.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSteelman posted a 4-under-par 68 in the final round to finish the event at TPC Colorado to finish the event at 22 under, one shot ahead of Tommy Morrison.The Columbia local is now in a strong position to land one of 20 available PGA Tour cards given to Korn Ferry Tour players via a season-long points race.Steelman jumped from 23rd in the standings before his win to fourth in the yearlong race, which began in January and will end with the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in mid-October.He also is theoretically two more wins away from automatically securing a PGA Tour card, as KFT players can secure Tour status with three tournament victories in a single season.
