Connie Limon voted Las Cruces Coach of the Year for 2025-26 season

   ​Connie Limon has been voted by readers as the best high school head coach in Las Cruces for the 2025-26 preps season.Limon, the head coach of Organ Mountain’s girls soccer and girls basketball teams last season, was among 17 nominees from Las Cruces, Mayfield, Organ Mountain, Centennial and Mesilla Valley Christian across football, volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, softball, girls soccer, track and field, golf and tennis teams. Organ Mountain reached the quarterfinals of the 5A playoffs after defeating Albuquerque High in the first round and finished 18-4 overall. The Knights finished the season ranked No. 7 in New Mexico by MaxPreps.Under Limon’s watch, Ariyah Vazquez was named the Co-District 3-5A Player of the Year alongside Las Cruces High’s Raylene Carillo. Vazquez recorded 34 goal contributions (16 goals and 18 assists) and was one of Organ Mountain’s five first-team All-District 3-5A players in 2025 alongside Ashley Black, Koury Judd, Mia Dean and Dahlia Gonzalez. Five additional players earned second-team honors, including Kambria Floyd, Giselle Turnbow, Chloe Robey, Hailey Justus and Persephonie Cullins.Organ Mountain’s Siena Gonzales (12) goes up against Centennial’s Skyler De La Cruz during Friday night’s district game held at Centennial High School.The Knights went 11-15 in girls basketball during the 2025-26 season.
