The Colorado Avalanche signed their latest trade acquisition to a one-year contract on Monday, locking up forward Fabian Lysell for the 2026-27 season.Lysell, 23, was acquired from the Boston Bruins in a one-for-one trade for Ivan Ivan on June 27. He was a restricted free agent.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDrafted No. 21 overall in 2021, Lysell is hoping to find a better fit with the Avalanche after failing to find a full-time role with the Bruins. The winger spent the 2025-26 season in the AHL, registering 42 points in 57 games. The Avs brought in several younger forwards this offseason with hopes of at least one of them carving out a full-time role in an otherwise aging lineup. That includes Lysell, along with Fedor Svechkov, Zachary L’Heureux, T.J. Hughes, and Avs second-year forward Gavin Brindley. The terms of Lysell’s contract are not yet confirmed, although it’s likely he accepted his $874,000 qualifying offer. The post Avalanche Sign Recently Acquired Forward to One-Year Deal appeared first on Colorado Hockey Now.
