De Larrea was the No. 25 pick in last month’s NBA draft, but was sent to the Mavericks in a draft night deal and Dallas hopes he can be a key piece to the puzzle as it builds around Cooper Flagg. The Mavericks were able to separate from the Grizzlies (1-1) thanks to some torrid shooting, as Dallas shot 46% from 3-point range while Memphis shot 29% from deep. Darin Green Jr. led the Mavs in scoring, pouring in 18 points and sinking five 3-pointers.Memphis’ Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft, stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting, eight rebounds, three assists, three turnovers and three steals. Former Mavericks first-round pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper, now with Memphis, had 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting with five rebounds.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Mavericks’ next Summer League matchup is set for Thursday at 3 p.m. against the Thunder. With Oklahoma City’s No. 12 pick Aday Mara, the matchup could feature another matchup of Michigan lottery picks that played under new Dallas coach Dusty May if Johnson is able to play.Sign up for the Morning Roundup, a free newsletter delivering the latest North Texas news each morning.
