Georgia basketball’s nonconference schedule is taking further shape.The Bulldogs will play Gardner-Webb in Stegeman Coliseum on Sunday Dec. 20, according to a contract signed in January that was obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald under an open records request.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Big South program from Boiling Springs, N.C. went 4-29 last season.Georgia is paying Gardner-Webb a $95,000 guarantee.Other “buy games,” in Stegeman Coliseum confirmed by the Banner-Herald that also have a $95,000 guarantee:Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, Nov. 9, according to a contract signed in May that was obtained from that school. The Eagles coming off a 16-18 season.North Florida on Tuesday Dec. 29, in a contract obtained from Georgia and signed in December.Georgia will open the season on Monday Nov. 2 against North Carolina Central, according to a post on X from Rocco Miller. North Florida went 7-25 las season.It will also play West Georgia on Wednesday Dec. 16, according to a contract obtained by SicemDawgs.com from West Georgia. The guarantee for that game is also $95,000. West Georgia went 15-17 in 2025-2026.Georgia’s nonconference games against power conference programs includes against marquee programs North Carolina on Nov. 13 in Chapel Hill, which was previously announced, and against Duke in New York in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden a date to be determined, according to Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGeorgia also will host Boston College on Dec. 1 in an SEC/ACC Challenge game and play at Georgia Tech at a date to be determined.Georgia has said it will play 18 home games in 2026-2027 with nine of those being nonconference games. The SEC opponents were announced last month but dates have yet to be revealed.Georgia returns Blue Cain, Marcus “Smurf” Millender, Kanon Catchings and Kareem Stagg from a team that went 22-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
