Is Jayden Daniels the most intriguing quarterback in NFC East?

The NFC East will display two veteran quarterbacks and two young quarterbacks in 2026. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles have the veterans in Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts. The New York Giants will see the year-two version of Jaxson Dart, and the Washington Commanders pray that year-three Jayden Daniels is closer to the year-one version of the same player rather than what we saw last season. The Good Morning Football Crew set out to discuss these four quarterbacks and determine which one was the most intriguing in 2026. Manti Te’o picked Jalen Hurts, Seth Rollins picked Jaxson Dart, and Mike Garofolo picked Jayden Daniels.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAfter discussing how the Commanders’ offense will shift under new offensive coordinator David Blough, which means that Daniels will be learning a new way to play, Garofolo said, “He’s already started to learn (new tricks) in the spring, and, from what I gather, he did a really good job of that in the spring. In fact, his best week was the week that Terry McLaurin wasn’t here for optional workouts. Which is a great sign because he didn’t have his No. 1 target and still was humming that way.”Things are going to be different in training camp once the pads come on, once you get into the regular season as well. Obviously, that will be the real test for him. But we’re sort of looking at Jayden Daniels like, year one, rookie year, well, that’s the real Daniels. And last year was sort of a blip, and he got injured, and there were issues team-wide. Okay, maybe year three is going to tell us which one we’re going to get. Are we going to get year one, are we going to get year two, are we going to get something in between, or are we going to get the best version?”There are certainly a lot of questions around the Commanders’ offense in general, and several around Jayden Daniels. We probably won’t see the year-one version of Daniels because this is a different offense. What we will probably see is an improved version of the young quarterback as he expands his skill set, learns to play under center, and spends less time running with the ball.Daniels has one primary goal in 2026: Stay healthy. His play will speak for itself, but he has to stay on the field. This article originally appeared on Commanders Wire: Is Jayden Daniels the most intriguing quarterback in NFC East?
