Florida State did an amazing job acquiring talent for the 2027 cycle in June. They could be headed for another pledge, according to Zach Blostein of 247Sports and Kolby Crawford of Noles247. On Monday, they both logged crystal ball predictions for FSU to land four-star athlete Za’Kari Johnson, who recently reclassified from the 2028 class.Johnson took an unofficial visit to Tallahassee last September when Florida State played the East Texas A&M Lions, and he received an offer the very next day. Back in January, Johnson attended a Junior Day event on campus, and he’s also locked in an official visit on Sept. 5, which is the weekend FSU will host the SMU Mustangs for the first time as an ACC rival.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe 6-foot-1, 196-pounder is the nation’s No. 349 recruit and the No. 21 athlete according to the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, Johnson is the No. 31 prospect.Johnson will play his senior season at Miami Carol City, but his rise up the high school ranks came from what he did at Plantation. He was an all-around star as a junior with 777 rushing yards on 73 carries (10.6 yards per carry) and 551 passing yards with seven touchdowns to just three interceptions on offense. Johnson also added 10 tackles, one interception, four pass breakups, and a fumble recovery as a defensive back.A decision from Johnson might take place in the near future. So, Florida State needs to ride this momentum in his recruitment and try to secure a commitment quickly.Contact/Follow us @FSUWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida State news, notes and opinions.
