While running backs and wide receivers come off the board first on draft days, a quarterback that is capable of providing huge numbers on a weekly basis typically gives teams the boost that they need, but will Sam Darnold do so in 2026?AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAccording to the NFL’s Dan Parr in his fantasy football QB rankings for the 2026 season, Darnold ranks No. 20 overall in the fourth tier of players at the position.“Sam Darnold is a proven real-football winner now, but he averaged 14.7 FPPG last season, which ranked 26th in the league,” Parr said. “Unless the Seahawks stun everyone by completely changing their identity — not something we should expect with Brian Fleury replacing Klint Kubiak at OC — it’s tough for me to envision Darnold consistentlyperforming at a fantasy QB1 level.”Darnold is expected to orchestrate an offense in Seattle that will be largely predicated on the run once again next season, though the departure of Kenneth Walker and the injury status of Zach Charbonnet may call for a slight increase in passing attempts early in the season while rookie Jadarian Price gets his feet under him in the offensive backfield.The 29-year-old Darnold is also not as much of a producer on the ground as many of his peers at the position are, which does not give him an edge over them in the fantasy football sphere.
