If San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk thinks his antics are helping him, he’d be sadly mistaken, according to one former 49ers player. He said Aiyuk’s online antics have all but killed his NFL career. For weeks, Aiyuk has been acting out because the 49ers won’t release him.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAikyuk wants to be cut so he can sign with the Washington Commanders, but he may have killed that idea by trolling Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels online.Former 49er Donte Whitner said that this latest incident may have killed Aiyuk ‘s career.”What I’m going to say is Brandon Aiyuk sealed his fate,” Whitner said on his podcast “The Grit Code.” “Brandon Aiyuk will never play another down in the NFL. Yeah, you went at the 49ers front office and their coaching staff. You were very disgruntled, but the only chance you had was Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. That was the only person you had to go to battle for you.”He continued, “And for Brandon Aiyuk to not understand that and go on social media and attack Jayden Daniels and his mom, you sealed your fate… So sometimes burning bridges is okay. Not in this instance. So I think that’s rest in peace for Brandon Aiyuk’s career.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFormer 49ers quarterback Steve Young thinks that Aiyuk may be dealing with mental health issues, which may explain why he is crashing out.“I worry for him,” Young said, via Edward Lewis of the New York Post. “I feel like I want to reach out and help. This is beyond football, it feels like. . . . It just feels like we need to not make it about football right now.”Whatever it is, concerns continue to grow that Aiyuk may need to seek help, rather than a trade. This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Former 49er says RIP to Brandon Aiyuk’s career
