The New York Jets and their quarterback, Geno Smith, received good news today. It appears that Smith won’t be charged in a domestic dispute he had with his baby’s mother. The Geno Smith case, stemming from a June 21 dispute with a woman at his home, has been declared inactive by police.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe investigation has concluded, and no charges are being brought. Future investigative action is contingent on additional information or evidence being brought forward, per a police spokesperson.”No further investigative steps can be reasonably taken with the information presently available,” per the investigator’s reportThe woman claimed that Smith hit her and tried to film him as he called the police on her. The police in the case have decided that there is not enough evidence to charge him with anything, which is why they have decided to let it go.With training camp opening in just a few weeks, this has to be a relief not only for Smith but also for the Jets, who brought Smith in to compete for the starting quarterback position.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNow it looks as if this situation won’t follow him or the team into the 2026 season. The only question now is whether this situation is actually over or if there is more to come. The woman in question may file a suit against Smith and take him to court, but for now, Smith is in the clear. This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Geno Smith will not be charged in domestic dispute
