Clemsonfootball continues to build relationships with quarterbacks in the 2028 recruiting class, extending another offer at the position before the weekend came to a close.
Four-star quarterback Trace Hawkins of Calhoun, Georgia revealed Sunday evening that he had received an offer from the Tigers. The offer gives Clemson two publicly known quarterback offers in the 2028 cycle as the coaching staff continues evaluating some of the nation’s top young signal callers.
Hawkins has already attracted attention from several major programs around the country. His growing offer list includes LSU, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana and multiple other schools. He shared the news of Clemson’s offer on social media following a conversation with head coach Dabo Swinney.
“After a great conversation with Coach Swinney, I am blessed to receive an offer from Clemson,” Hawkins wrote on Twitter.
The offer comes after Hawkins spent time on campus earlier this month. He attended Clemson’s camp in June, giving the coaching staff another opportunity to evaluate him in person. That visit was far from his first trip to Tiger Town, as Hawkins has made several visits throughout the spring and also spent time at Clemson during the fall.

With multiple visits already under his belt and now an offer in hand, Clemson has made it clear that Hawkins is a quarterback prospect the staff wants to keep a close eye on moving forward. While the 2028 recruiting cycle is still in its early stages, the Tigers continue to identify and pursue talented young quarterbacks, and Hawkins has emerged as one of the latest prospects to earn a spot on Clemson’s radar.
