Texas A&M baseball just received massive news regarding the return of an elite right-handed pitcher for his senior season in Bryan-College Station.After being selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 19th round of the 2026 MLB Draft, Clayton Freshcorn has decided to return to Aggieland in 2027. With Freshcorn taking the bump for the Aggies in his senior campaign next season, Texas A&M’s pitching rotation just got much stronger.Hailing from Walker, Texas, the NCBWA All-America First Team and First Team All-SEC selection recorded 12 saves in 2026, the third-highest mark in program history. He also finished as a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, which is one of college baseball’s top honors for relief pitchers.Freshcorn has spent two years with the program after transferring from McLennan College, notching 15 total saves, a 3.43 career ERA, and 89 total strikeouts.
