Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro’s heated exchange at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas is not the first time two teammates have come to blows — not by a long shot. Sure. If we’re being technical, the two were no longer on the same roster when this altercation occurred, with Tyler Herro traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the package for Giannis Antetokounmpo just four days earlier.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementStill, it was close enough to get us thinking about the most infamous locker-room bust-ups we have seen in the NBA. Being teammates should mean compromise and communication, but sometimes, tempers boil over. The most recent example of NBA infighting came during the Warriors’ title defense. Poole and Green were involved in a heated verbal exchange in training, and it resulted in the former DPOY punching his young teammate with tremendous force.A video of the incident was leaked by TMZ, and Green publicly apologised soon after. He has again expressed remorse on multiple occasions in the years since.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe shock value of this fight came from the fact it was filmed and shared everywhere online. Poole moved on from the Warriors the following summer. In 2022, Kerr had the role of mediator as coach of the Warriors. During his playing days, though, he was involved in a practice-session brawl of his own — with one of basketball’s GOATs.During a heated training camp scrimmage in 1995, Jordan punched Kerr in the face after the two exchanged words. Kerr swung back before teammates separated them.Jordan later apologized, and the pair became close friends, winning three straight championships together. The happy ending you rarely see in situations like these.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesAnother infamous Bulls bust-up came more than two decades after Jordan and Kerr, and it might be the worst one ever. During a training camp practice in 2017, tensions between Portis and Mirotić boiled over.Reports said Mirotić charged at Portis twice before Portis responded with a single punch that floored his teammate. The consequences were far more serious than most NBA practice altercations. Mirotić suffered a concussion, a broken upper jaw and multiple facial fractures, requiring hospital treatment and weeks on the sidelines.Portis was suspended for eight games by the Bulls, while Mirotić eventually returned later that season.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAdebayo and Herro’s altercation was perhaps tamer than all the ones we’ve discussed here. We still don’t know exactly what happened, but no fractured faces is a good sign I guess?READ MORE: NBA fans have a lot to say about Bam Adebayo’s meeting with Mike Tyson after Tyler Herro altercationTyler Herro’s stance on pursuing ‘legal action’ after Bam Adebayo’s alleged punch revealedNBA insider confirms a video of Bam Adebayo’s alleged punch on Tyler Herro exists
