The Tigers are well-represented at the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Citizens Bank in Philadelphia.Shortstop Kevin McGonigle, catcher Dillon Dingler, outfielder Riley Greene and Justin Verlander are All-Stars, with McGonigle, Dingler and Greene set to play in the game Tuesday night.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHere’s a look at how the Tigers fared in the All-Star Game:Greene was in the starting lineup for the American League (as an injury replacement), and batting eighth. He came to bat in the first inning and struck out swinging on an 88-mph change-up from National League starter Cristopher Sancez of the Phillies. That ended the first inning, with the AL up, 3-0.Greene was starting as the AL’s left fielder, and is in the All-Star Game for a third straight year. He’s the first Tigers outfielder to make three straight All-Star Game since Al Kaline more than a half-century ago.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGreene now has four strikeouts in six career at-bats in the All-Star Game.McGonigle was selected to the All-Star Game as a reserve, at 21 years old. He was expected to be the first player to replace starting shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals, in McGonigle’s hometown of Philadelphia.Dingler also was selected as a reserve, even though he had the credentials (offensively and defensively) to be the AL’s starting catcher. He’s likely to replace starter catcher Shea Langeliers of the Athletics during the game. This is Verlander’s 10th and final All-Star Game, as he was a legend’s pick by commissioner Rob Manfred. Verlander, who’s been on the injured list, won’t pitch for the AL. He did address the AL All-Stars before the game.tpaul@detroitnews.com@tonypaul1984This article originally appeared on The Detroit News: Here’s how the Tigers are doing at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game
