   ​Our spring all-scholastics are about to release, but we’re also taking one last look at the 2025-26 high school sports year as a whole.From state champions to league all-stars and MVPs, the Brockton-area had dozens of stars competing in the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons. But the question remains: Who was the top local player from this school year? Abrams helped the Vikings girls volleyball team claim its first ever state title in its first appearance this fall as the starting libero. Abrams also led the girls basketball team to the Round of 16 as a starting guard and recorded her 100th career hit this spring on the softball team to help the Vikings reach the state quarterfinal. She hit for a .524 average with 24 RBIs and 34 runs.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Trojans’ senior captain posted one of the best seasons out of any wrestler, boy or girl, in the area this winter. Davis won two titles this year, claiming the Division 2 state title and the all-state title in the 114-pound weight class. At Girls New Englands, Davis finished runner-up, completing her career with a 39-18 season record and an overall record of 141-71.The senior and Mayflower League MVP finished her career as the most prolific scorer in Holbrook girls basketball history. She became the program’s all-time points leader this winter, finishing with 1,245 after averaging 18 points per game. She was also a top defender, averaging 4.5 steals per game while dishing out 3.8 assists. Dingle led Holbrook to a 15-5 record and an appearance in the Div. 5 round of 16.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe freshman shortstop was the top hitter in a strong Wildcats lineup. She hit for a .630 average with 8 home runs, 15 doubles, 32 RBIs and 37 runs to lead West Bridgewater to the Div. 4 state quarterfinal. Fidalgo already has 108 career hits with 51 RBIs and 72 runs in three varsity seasons.The Tigers’ junior setter led OA to the programs first ever state title in the MIAA Div. 2 state championship. She was named a Hockomock League all-star and a MAVCA Div. 2 all-state player. McDonough finished the season number one in the league and third in Div. 2 in assists with 619.
