To some extent, today’s game feels like the final already. Not necessarily because I’d expect either to beat Spain the actual final, but the sense of occasion, rivalry, and the potential drama is at the highest levels already. And we haven’t even kick a ball in anger, yet. That said, I’m just hoping for a better game than Spain’s 2-0 triumph over France yesterday. Spain were certainly impressive in nullifying a team who had romped through the previous rounds, but they didn’t provide much actual intertainment, as usual.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSo let’s hope that Argentina bring the drama as they tend to do, and England prove spoilers to those vibes.Date / Time: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 3pm EDT; 8pm BSTVenue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA , USAReferee: Ismael Elfath (USA)On TV: FOX, Telemundo (USA); BBC One (UK); elsewhereStreaming online: FOX One, Peacock (USA); BBC iPlayer (UK)Chelsea interest: Reece James seems to have overcome (or at least mitigated) an in-tournament injury and he should be in the matchday squad today (even if he’s chosen not to start). Emergency replacement Trevoh Chaloah has not seen any action yet.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOn the other side, we’ve got Enzo Ferández, who remains one of Argentina’s most important players. He didn’t quite last into extra-time in the previous round after playing nearly every minute of every game, but hopefully he’s fully recovered and ready to go once again.
