2026 TCU Football Season Preview: Tight Ends

   ​Ka’Morreun Pimpton, once a high-school football standout in the Fort Worth area, made his first touchdown catch with the TCU Horned Frogs this past season. Pimpton, who starred at North Crowley before starting his collegiate career at LSU and transferring to TCU, hauled in a 3-yard touchdown grab when the Horned Frogs faced Baylor. Pimpton briefly opted for the transfer portal, but has chosen to return to TCU in 2026.Pimpton will be one of five tight ends competing for the Horned Frogs this fall. TCU will be looking to replace a pair of veterans in DJ Rogers and Chase Curtis. Rogers led all TCU tight ends with 34 catches for 319 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. Curtis, a team captain, spent six years with the Horned Frogs, totaling 36 catches for 413 yards and four touchdowns over 40 games played. Pimpton, a redshirt junior who appeared in four games this past season, is one of two tight ends to earn regular playing time for a TCU squad that went 9-4 in 2025.The other will be redshirt junior Lafayette Kaiuway, who caught his first career touchdown pass during TCU’s win over Colorado. A three-star recruit out of Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas, Kaiuway has appeared in 18 games for the Horned Frogs, with 10 appearances coming in 2025. He made three catches for 33 yards.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMason Peterson (sophomore), Kari Ashley (junior) and Braden Bach (freshman) round out the tight ends set to compete for TCU in 2026. Peterson, a three-star recruit out of Dickinson High School, was a special teams player who appeared in all 13 games this past season. Ashley, a junior college recruit out of Navarro College in Marietta, Georgia, was the No. 2 ranked JUCO prospect in his class before signing with the Horned Frogs. Bach is a three-star prospect from Argyle, recorded 750 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns during his high school career.
