‘The Cardinal Countdown: 53 Days Until Kickoff’

LANCE ROBINSON #53Height: 6’4”Weight: 295lbPosition: OLClass: RS SeniorHometown: Camilla, GASummary: Lance Robinson, after bouncing back from an injury in 2024, used 2025 as a launchpad to success. One could say he is the cornerstone of the Louisville offensive line in 2026, and his presence is so critical, that I can say with confidence he will be a starter on the line, but we don’t even know where yet.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe versatile big man started 2025 getting snaps at right guard, then played  a couple games at right tackle, and then finally settled in at left guard the remainder of the season, starting all thirteen games he appeared in along the way at one spot or another. His performance was good enough to earn him an All-ACC honorable mention, and his talent along with his veteran leadership will be key going into the upcoming season. The forecasts are starting to clear up a bit as we heard rumblings during the spring, and now even Phil Steele has Robinson projected as the starting center heading into the summer. If Robinson nails that down it will be nice to slide a multi-year guy into a spot acting as the leader of the line, and allow Kienholz to feel comfortable back there. A great nod to Lance’s versatility along the line the last couple of years.I say this with no disrespect to Anwar or Cam Gorin, but LT might be might biggest OL concern as we sit today, and its not because I don’t feel comfortable with those guys it’s just that I really like a Eryx, Lance, Johnnie, and Cason front if they can all stay healthy.  Having guys like Jackson and Wibberley on the two deep, and  younger players such as Strickland and Anthony building into contributors makes me feel good about what we have. I’d be lying if I said losing Coach Owens wasn’t a blow, but I think Coach Dale Williams has the experience to get these guys competing and knows Jeff Brohm’s system well. If you’re wondering why you got this “bonus” paragraph about the O-line, today finishes up the “offensive line” section of your countdown journey, and gets us one day closer to the halfway point.I shared this video a few weeks back but here it is again, with Lance and Stanquan breaking down the offseason so far.
