Earlier this offseason, Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins said he aims to lead the NFL in rushing this season. Former Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay, however, says not so fast.Lindsay, who is now a radio host in Denver, spoke out that while he loves Dobbins and his confidence, he would like for him to keep his motivations in the tuck. As of now, he has to back it up.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“I do love the confidence,” Lindsay said in a recent interview with the Action Network’s Kyle Odegard. “I don’t think he had to go out there and call his shot like that, but I also understand he’s been hearing this from everybody. From national radio to here in Colorado, that this man can’t stay healthy. The truth is, when he is healthy, he’s very productive and really, really good as a running back. There’s no doubt about that.“Last year, my man would have been a top running back in the league because he was in such a groove. But for J.K., talk is cheap at this point. He has to go out there and prove to the world that you truly can stay healthy.”Dobbins was looking to have a career year in 2025 until he suffered a season-ending foot surgery after ten games. Dobbins had 772 yards rushing with four touchdowns on a five-yard-per-carry clip. However, the Broncos are taking a huge gamble on Dobbins. He returned on a two-year, $16 million deal this year. But Dobbins, in six seasons, has played at least 13 games only twice. So, maybe Lindsay has a point.Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X!
