​Janice McNair’s legacy around the NFL touched countless lives and those outside of Houston are sending their condolences.McNair, who co-founded the Houston Texans alongside her late husband, Bob, died Tuesday at the age of 89. The couple spent $700 million for the expansion franchise, making the Texans the 32nd overall program in league history.This fall will mark the team’s 25th season after starting their run in 2022. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement that Janice McNair served as an essentual role in bringing more stability to the league with their purchase of the franchise nearly 30 years ago.”Janice McNair was a woman of extraordinary generosity, grace and faith, whose impact on the Houston community and the NFL will be felt for generations,” Goodell said in a statement. “Alongside Bob, she helped bring the NFL back to her beloved Houston and played an essential role in building the Texans into an organization that reflects the values held dear — service, integrity, and commitment to community.”Under Bob and Janice McNair’s watch, the Texans are 174-214-1 with nine playoff appearances, eight division titles and seven playoff wins.
