Penn State’s offensive line will look quite different from a year ago, as four starters have moved on to the NFL. With so much turnover, the Nittany Lions offense will depend on several members of the offensive line to make a big leap in 2026. Here are the main candidates:Malachi Goodman Goodman appears to be a strong candidate to land a starting spot at tackle, filling the void left by the departures of Drew Shelton and Nolan Rucci. Despite taking a redshirt season, Goodman was the top recruit in Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class. The consensus four-star prospect was ranked as the 46th overall player in the class by On3, and 86th overall by 247, with both ranking him in the top 10 for offensive linemen.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementEntering his redshirt freshman season at 6-6, 330 lbs., Goodman certainly has the size to mix it up with Big Ten defenders. While he is short on experience, he certainly has the pedigree to develop into a standout by the end of 2026.Donnie Harbour Vega Ioane left behind a massive (and I mean truly massive) hole in Penn State’s line when he became the 14th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Harbour may be up to the task of filling in for the All-American guard. The Milwaukee native is similar to Goodman – short on experience, but high on potential. The composite four-star prospect may not have been as highly rated as Goodman, but was considered the 24th overall interior lineman of the 2024 class. He selected the Nittany Lions among a list of high-profile offers, including Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, Florida, and many more.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHe also has a Big Ten-ready body at 6-6, 333 lbs. Harbour is battling for a starting spot when the season kicks off on September 5, and could be a vital part of the Nittany Lions new-look offensive line.Brock Riker Riker could end up as one of the most important additions from a large group of transfers. He joins the Nittany Lions after starting one season at Texas State as a redshirt freshman, where he did not allow a sack in a pass-heavy offense. Riker was a standout for the Bobcats, which scored at least 30 points in 11 of 13 games in 2025.While he may be a bit undersized at 291 lbs., Riker makes up for it with outstanding speed and leverage. He’s also known for his high football IQ, which is crucial for a center to identify communicate pre-snap reads.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRiker plays with a nasty streak that could help him quickly become a fan-favorite in Happy Valley. There has been regular buzz surrounding Riker ever since he stepped foot on campus, and seems poised to replace two-year starter Nick Dawkins at the top of the depth chart.
