Fighters have a habit of blaming their losses on “God’s Plan.”Following his UFC 329 defeat to Max Holloway last weekend in Las Vegas, former two-division champion Conor McGregor was rambling on social media about his love for God and religion, a far cry from the “Notorious” fighter who previously did “what the fuck he wants” and apologized to “absolutely nobody.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWell, almost nobody.“I don’t want the new Conor, ‘God’s Plan,’ I want him to be the fucking man,” former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw said on the Jaxxon Podcast. “The guy that’s like, no one can tell him fucking shit, he’s sorry for nothing, that’s the guy that’s gonna get him back.”That’s also the same guy who once ranked himself alongside Jesus, claiming “Gods recognize Gods.”“It’s got nothing to do with religion,” ex-UFC middleweight titleholder Michael Bisping added. “Don’t give me this ‘God’s Plan’ bullshit. Any time someone loses a fight, every time, ‘It’s God’s Plan’ — shut the fuck up. Like God gives a fuck. No blasphemy intended!”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementTake note, Fedor.McGregor, 38, has embraced religion after courts found him liable for sexual assault back in 2024, one of several ugly incidents that tarnished his once-great legacy. His attempt to resurrect his MMA career and finish out the remaining fights on his current UFC contract ended in just 69 seconds following a first-round knee injury. The extent of his injury, as well as a possible recovery timeline, have yet to be determined.
