One of USC’s top commits in its 2027 recruiting class is five-star athlete Honor Fa’alave-Johnson. While Texas made a push to flip Fa’alave-Johnson back in May, he quickly shut down those rumors and locked in with the Trojans. In an interview with 247Sports this week, Fa’alave-Johnson discussed shutting down his recruitment and where things currently stand with him.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“To be honest, I knew where home was from the start,” Fa’alave-Johnson said. “I knew that USC was the place I wanted to go to school. So I don’t want to waste my time talking to all these other coaches, taking other visits, and I just want to make it clear that I’m good where I am.“The schools that are trying to recruit me have made it clear that they’re not going to stop until signing day. Texas specifically, I have a good relationship with the staff, and they all reach out to me every day. I love the coaching staff over there, but I’m happy where I am.“I’m not going to force anyone to stop reaching out, but I’ve made it clear to them that I’m happy where I’m at, and I’m not planning on leaving. I don’t even want to put that in my mind, and I don’t want to give any false hope.”247Sports Composite currently ranks Fa’alave-Johnson as the No. 16 overall recruit in the class of 2027 and the No. 2 player in the state of California. If the Trojans are able to hold off Texas and sign him this winter, they will be getting an extremely talented player who will arrive on campus with high expectations.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementContact/Follow @TrojansWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing lcoverage of USC Trojans news, notes and opinion. This article originally appeared on Trojans Wire: USC five-star commit Honor Fa’alave-Johnson discusses his recruitment
