The New York Giants have been one of the busier teams this NFL offseason, reshaping their roster on both sides of the ball to build a squad more appeasing to new head coach John Harbaugh.
But is it possible the Giants aren’t done?

There are still some very good veterans available in free agency, and we have already gone over why New York should consider signing cornerback Trevon Diggs.
Wide receivers like Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen and Deebo Samuel also remain on the market, but the Giants have probably gotten their fill of wide outs after adding all of Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin III, Odell Beckham Jr., JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios in free agency. They also drafted Malachi Fields.
So, where else could New York go to add more pieces?
Well, Ed Valentine of Big Blue View recently conducted a poll asking fans which free agent they would like to see the Giants sign before training camp, and the winner — by a wide margin, I might add — was edge rusher Kyle Van Noy.

Valentine gave fans four choices: the Diggs brothers, Samuel and Van Noy. Van Noy received 37 percent of the vote. The next closest was Stefon Diggs at 24 percent.
Why in the world would New York even want to consider bringing in Van Noy when it already has Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Kavyon Thibodeaux on the edge? Oh, and need I mention that the Giants drafted another pass rusher in Arvell Reese?
Yes, Van Noy is familiar with Harbaugh from their Baltimore Ravens days. That doesn’t mean he is a fit in New York.
The 35-year-old played 15 games for the Ravens in 2025, logging 20 tackles and a couple of sacks. He is just two years removed from racking up 12 sacks en route to a Pro Bowl appearance, but it’s possible the long-time veteran is now over the hill.

There really isn’t much that Van Noy can add to the Giants at this point other than depth in the event of an injury. If that’s the only role that Van Noy would play, then I guess I’m fine with it. But why sign him when you have much larger needs elsewhere?
Again, Trevon Diggs would be a terrific addition because of New York’s thin cornerback room. Bringing in another receiver like Trevon’s older brother, Samuel or Allen could also be smart if Malik Nabers remains compromised.
But Van Noy? That would be signing a big name just for the sake of it. It doesn’t make any sense for the Giants at this current point in time.
