Dan Stewart will serve as a goaltending coach. Mehta was hired as the Devils’ sixth general manager in team history on April 16 and had since promised a full assessment of the organization when taking over control of hockey operations upon his hiring.Keefe recently completed his second year coaching behind the bench for New Jersey, with the Devils also parting ways with longtime former GM Tom Fitzgerald and missing the postseason.Luongo will now oversee all goaltending development and reports to Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Martin Brodeur, per the Devils press release sent out to the media. Donato comes to New Jersey after spending 22 seasons as Head Coach at the Ivy League’s Harvard University — earning 334 NCAA wins.Luongo — who is 41 — will work alongside Devils’ Goaltending Coach Dan Stewart, Utica Goaltending Coach Brian Eklund, and New Jersey’s Head Amateur Goalie Scout/Development Coach Manny Legace, in addition to monitoring the organization’s current and potential prospect goalies.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHe spent the past 10 seasons with the Florida Panthers organization at both the American Hockey League (AHL) and NHL levels.In addition, Luongo will work with scouting efforts to identify talent for draft selections.Donato will serve as a Devils’ assistant coach after having earned the most wins all-time by a Head Coach in Harvard’s program’s history. The former forward also saw action on the ice in parts of 13 League seasons, originally being drafted by the Boston Bruins.The other newly named assistant coach — MacLean — had previously served as Assistant Coach with Tampa Bay’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Syracuse Crunch since 2023-24. With MacLean in his role with them, Syracuse would clinch a Calder Cup Playoff berth in all three season during his tenure.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementStewart spent the past six seasons with the St. Louis Blues organization, serving as both the Goaltending Development Coach for the Blues and the Goaltending Coach for the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL. The now-goaltending coach for New Jersey also previously was on a coaching staff with Devils’ alumnus Joe Cirella with the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).Mehta stuck with Keefe in the head coaching position while making coaching staff changes and overhauling the New Jersey front office.Contracts of executives Chuck Fletcher and Dan MacKinnon were not renewe
