Analyst suggests the Vikings should trade for another cornerback

The Minnesota Vikings’ defense has gone through some significant turnover this offseason. Minnesota lost Harrison Smith, Javon Hargrave, Jonathan Allen, and Jonathan Greenard, and while they did a fine job working on the interior of the defensive line, questions surround this secondary group. Should the Vikings look to acquire some form of help before the season begins?Moe Moton of Bleacher Report recently went over one trade each NFL team should make before the season begins, and he suggested Minnesota trade for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Kristian Fulton. The suggested compensation would be a late 2027 NFL Draft pick. Here was the reasoning:Minnesota should add veteran insurance to cover the boundary when Murphy lines up in the slot. Fulton could be serviceable in that role. Last year, he only appeared in eight games but allowed a solid 81.7 passer rating in coverage. The 27-year-old may be behind L’Jarius Sneed and Nohl Williams on the Chiefs’ depth chart. With 53 career starts, Fulton could take on a prominent role on the perimeter in nickel packages or provide quality depth. While Fulton would bring leadership and playoff experience to this roster, I am not sure he would be a major difference-maker. Yes, depth is always important, and a flyer on Fulton would do the roster well. But would Fulton move the needle?AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis article originally appeared on Vikings Wire: Analyst suggests the Vikings should trade for another cornerback
