With training camp drawing closer for the Indianapolis Colts, we typically put together a 53-man roster prediction based on what we learned during offseason programs. We will still be doing that, but the format will be different. Rather than cramming every position group into one article, we’ll devote an entire article to one unit before compiling our predictions at the end.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementUp next is the defensive tackle position.Buckner and Stewart will again lead the way at this position. The Colts traded for Wooden earlier this offseason, which tells us how much they value him. It’s worth noting that this is the final year of Adebawore’s deal, and the Colts save money on the salary cap by releasing him. However, we saw him take a step forward last season, earning more playing time on defense, and with that came more production in a pass-rush-heavy role. Adebawore also continued to contribute regularly on special teams.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt’s possible the Colts keep six defensive tackles, and both players are on the team. That said, if we zoom out and look at the defensive line unit as a whole, the Colts may already have to go heavy at defensive end, forcing them to roster five tackles. In that instance, would they rather have Tillery, who is more of a pass rusher, or Nnadi, a run-first defender?Although both were just signed this offseason, the Colts can get out of their deals quite easily.DeForest Buckner, Grover Stewart, Adetomiwa Adebawore, Colby Wooden, Jerry TilleryAdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWooden saw a lot of snaps against the run in Green Bay and can provide that presence behind Stewart in Indianapolis. So, in rounding out this depth chart, I believe there is more value in having an added pass rush presence, an area where the Colts need more consistency in 2026.This article originally appeared on Colts Wire: Colts pre-training camp 53-man roster prediction: Defensive tackle
