Mike Tyson clearly doesn’t watch much baseball. The legendary boxer attended the ESPYS last night, and alongside Jake Paul he announced the Best Single-Game Performance award.Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani won the honor for Game 4 of the 2025 NLCS, when he hit three home runs while tossing six scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts. Tyson was happy to present the award — only he knew nothing about who was receiving it.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”The ESPY Award goes to… check this out… Shohei Ohtani,” Tyson said.Paul explained to the applauding audience Ohtani couldn’t attend, then Tyson asked him, “Shohei’s a guy?” Paul responded, “Yeah, he’s a guy.”Ohtani is more like the guy in MLB. He’s a four-time MVP, two-time World Series champion and the most electrifying talent in baseball. As for Paul and Tyson, it was nice to see them share a comical moment after their fight back in November 2024. Paul defeated Tyson by unanimous decision in a bout widely criticized for a lack of competitiveness.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAlong with Ohtani, 2026 ESPYS winners included Jalen Brunson, Fernando Mendoza, Alysa Liu, Myles Garrett, Stephen Curry and A’ja Wilson, among others. This article originally appeared on For The Win: Mike Tyson had no clue who Shohei Ohtani was at ESPYS
