Tigers’ prospect rankings get midseason update from ESPN, post-draft

   ​The Tigers have some new prospects, following the Major League Baseball Draft earlier this month.ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel released his new top-10 rankings for each team, post-draft, and there was little movement in the Tigers’ system. But there was one noticeable change. Right-hander Cameron Flukey, a right-handed pitcher out of Coastal Carolina who was selected with the No. 22 overall pick, has moved into the No. 5 spot on the Tigers’ list of prospects, according to McDaniel’s rankings.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFlukey signed with the Tigers this week, the team announced. Bonus terms weren’t disclosed, though the slot value of the No. 22 overall pick is $4.08 million.Coastal Carolina pitcher Cameron Flukey was the Tigers’ first-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.The top four in McDaniel’s Tigers ranking remained unchanged: outfielder Max Clark is No. 1, catcher Josue Briceno is No. 2, shortstop Bryce Rainer is No. 3, and catcher Thayron Liranzo is No. 4.Second baseman Max Anderson remained No. 6 and shortstop Jordan Yost stayed at No. 7. Catcher Michael Oliveto moved up to No. 8, right-hander Malachi Witherspoon is No. 9, and left-hander Andrew Sears is No. 10.”There hasn’t been a huge breakout name here this year as we’ve seen in years past, but there’s still a lot of talent,” McDaniel wrote of the Tigers’ system.
