Two Nebraska track and field athletes were named Academic All-Americans by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Axelina Johansson and Jana Lowka were honored on Wednesday.Johansson was a seven-time first-team All-American, a 2026 World Championships Bronze Medalist and the USTFCCCA Women’s National Field Athlete of the Year. She carries a 3.96 GPA in graduate school, having earned a degree in journalism and mass communications.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLowka earned second-team Academic All-America honors. The Frankfurt, Germany native was a Big Ten Silver Medalist in the javelin with a mark of 54.07m (177-5) and capped off her career with a ninth-place finish at NCAA Outdoor Nationals.
