LeBron James’ free agency decision not only has fans glued to their phones, but it also apparently has players on high alert as well. And with the 2026 NBA Summer League in full force, many players have made appearances from across the league. However, when NBA on Prime insider Chris Haynes reached out to Giannis Antetokounmpo to see if the new Miami Heat star would be stopping by, the call didn’t quite go as planned. In a hilarious interview during the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat Summer League game, Haynes explained that he called Antetokounmpo, and when the two linked up, the Greek Freak clearly thought the call was about something very different. As Haynes explained, Giannis thought Haynes “had some news,” insinuating it was likely the news that everyone across the league is waiting on.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”I had to call him twice before he eventually called me back. Until LeBron James makes his final decision, I wouldn’t be surprised if several players feel a bit frantic when the phone rings and it’s an insider or someone from their team’s front office.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis article originally appeared on For The Win: Giannis nearly ‘cussed out’ NBA insider over LeBron-Heat confusion
