The Brooklyn Nets (2-1) have been playing well over the course of the Las Vegas Summer League as they have seen players like Egor Demin and Mikel Brown Jr. excel. Brooklyn has the chance to beat one of the four teams that make it to the playoff stage of the summer league, but they have to take care of business against a Houston Rockets (2-1) team that is looking to do the same thing. The Nets come into this game following a 115-83 win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday in which Brooklyn began the game with a 38-18 run and never looked back. Demin finished the contest with 22 points and eight assists while guard Drake Powell had 18 points and two steals in what was easily the kind of bounceback performance was looking for prior to the matchup. The Rockets enter this contest after a 90-64 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday in which Houston managed to win each quarter by at least five points, including the first quarter when they held Philadelphia to just eight points. Isaiah Crawford led the Rockets in scoring with 19 points to go along with six rebounds while Bruce Thornton had 18 points and four assists. Here is the game preview of the Nets’ summer league matchup against the Rockets on Thursday:How To WatchDate: Thursday, July 16Time: 4:30 PM ETLocation: Pavilion, Las Vegas, NVChannel: YES Network, ESPNUThings To NoteComing into this game, the Nets are one of 12 teams that have at least a 2-1 record with there being two teams with a 3-0 tally. Given that a team has to make it in the top-4 of the standings through record and point differential, Brooklyn has to not only beat the Rockets, but they will have to do it convincingly if they want to give themselves the best chance of going to the playoff stage. As noted earlier, Powell had the kind of bounceback performance that many Nets fans were hoping for as he had struggled mightily shooting the basketball. Against the Kings, Powell dropped 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 shooting from behind the three-point line and he looked more confident with each made basket.Demin and Brown have been spending plenty of time on the court together as the Nets are looking to see what kind of chemistry they will have heading into next season. With that being said, Brown is likely to be the starting point guard and Demin the starting shooting guard. Time will tell how each player will develop alongside the other. This article originally appeared on Nets Wire: Nets vs. Rockets summer league preview: How to watch, things to know
