Justin Gaethje didn’t comment too much on Paddy Pimblett’s UFC 329 win.Pimblett (24-4 MMA, 8-1 UFC) quickly submitted Benoit Saint Denis in this past Saturday’s co-main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He rebounded from his interim lightweight title loss to Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC), who went onto dethrone Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPimblett is eager to fulfill his goal of becoming UFC lightweight champion, but a rematch is not on Gaethje’s radar. Instead, Gaethje spoke about how Pimblett and Rafael Fiziev were inspired by him upsetting Topuria.”Destined for each other, like, to fight again? No. No, no, no,” Gaethje said on The Pat McAfee Show. “I think it’s crazy what my story has done for so many people. Rafael Fiziev, a guy I fought two times, says a very similar thing that I kind of rejuvenated him when I won that fight. Him losing two times to me, having been in there with me two times kind of rejuvenated him.”Anthony Joshua, I just saw him talking about how you can never forget how real fighting is, and how dangerous it is and never becoming too full of yourself. He learned that from that lesson. It’s pretty cool how across the board, all athletes respect our sport because it’s so humbling, so primal. It’s one-on-one.”Gaethje, who defeated Pimblett in January and Topuria in June, doesn’t plan on fighting again this year. This article originally appeared on MMA Junkie: Justin Gaethje rejects idea that he’s destined to rematch Paddy Pimblett
